Chalk and Notch Crew Shorts and Trousers
Buy the Crew Shorts and Trousers sewing pattern from Chalk and Notch. Crew is a high-waisted, pleated short and trouser with a side zipper closure. The waist tie and belt loops are optional. The shorts have a relaxed leg and the trousers have a tapered leg.
This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following formats:
- PDF (available to download immediately after purchase). What is a PDF?
- PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you'll need to download the digital instructions, as we don't print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?
Suggested fabrics:
Main: Medium weight woven fabric with nice drape; 5 to 7 oz weight is recommended. Rayon crepe, linen/linen blends, Tencel twill, silk/linen noil, wool crepe.
Lining (for pocket bags): Rayon bemberg, viscose batiste, rayon challis.
Fabric requirements:
Shorts: 44" (112 cm) wide fabric: 2 - 2 1/2 yd (1.9 - 2.3 m) // 54" (137 cm) wide fabric: 1 1/2 - 2 yd (1.4 - 1.9 m).
Trousers: 44" (112 cm) wide fabric: 3 - 3 1/2 yd (2.7 - 3.2 m) // 54" (137 cm) wide fabric: 2 1/2 - 3 yd (2.3 - 2.7 m).
Lining (for pocket bags): 1/2 yd (0.5 m).
Sizing: US 0 â 30 (approx. UK 8 â 30, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.
Notions: 3/4 yd (0.7 m) of tricot fusible interfacing; 9" (23 cm) coil zipper; two 1/2" (1.2 cm) buttons (or skirt hook and eye).
