Merchant & Mills Ottoline Jacket

Merchant & Mills Ottoline Jacket

Buy the Ottoline Jacket sewing pattern from Merchant & Mills. Ottoline is a boxy workwear jacket with cuff and side seam splits and an inside pocket. Although a lovely design detail, the vents are a little tricky, so instructions are also included to simplify Ottoline by excluding the vents if you like.

Sewing level: Intermediate / Advanced

This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following formats:

– PAPER (next working day dispatch on orders and FREE UK delivery over £50)

– PDF (available to download immediately after purchase). What is a PDF?

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?

Suggested fabrics: 8-12.5 oz. non-stretch denim, medium weight cotton drill or canvas, dry oilskin, linen and corduroy.

Fabric requirements:

Sizes 6 - 18: 83 cm (32 1/2") wide fabric: 2.8 - 3.3 m (3 1/4 - 3 3/4 yd) // 120 cm (47") wide fabric: 1.9 - 2.2 m (2 1/4 - 2 1/2 yd) // 140 cm (55") wide fabric: 1.7 - 2 m (2 - 2 1/4 yd) // 150 cm (60") wide fabric: 1.7 - 1.9 m (2 - 2 1/4 yd).

Sizes 18 - 28: 83 cm (32 1/2") wide fabric: 3.5 - 4.2 m (4 - 4 3/4 yd) // 110 cm (43 1/2") wide fabric: 2.7 - 2.9 m (3 - 3 1/4 yd) // 120 cm (47") wide fabric: 2.4 - 2.8 m (2 3/4 - 3 1/4 yd) // 140 cm (55") wide fabric: 2 - 2.2 m (2 1/4 - 2 1/2 yd) // 150 cm (60") wide fabric: 1.9 - 2 m (2 1/4 yd).

Sizing: UK 6 – 18 or UK 18 – 28 (approx. UK 6 – 16/18 or UK 18 – 30, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer's size charts and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Five 20-22 mm (3/4") buttons (seven if you are doing buttons at the cuffs); matching thread; contrast topstitch thread (optional).

Note: We have found that a heavy duty thread rather than a topstitch thread gives a more authentic look to the topstitching and is easier to use. You may find that you get a better stitch using a matching standard ‘sew all’ thread in the bobbin.

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; A4/US letter print-at-home pattern (30 pages for sizes 6-18, 35 pages for sizes 18-28); A0 copy shop pattern (2 sheets for sizes 6-18, 2 sheets for sizes 18-28) // Layers: No // Projector file: No.
