Noodlehead Making Backpack

Buy the Making Backpack sewing pattern from Noodlehead. A backpack that’s perfect in its simplicity, but also great for customising. Choose your favourite canvas, waxed canvas or dry oilskin and get to work creating your very own backpack. The pattern now includes both regular and mini sizes as well as a bonus zippered front pocket!

This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following format:

NOTE: No printed pattern pieces are included. Rotary cutting instructions/measurements are provided instead, as all the pieces are rectangular (just cut and sew, no pattern pieces needed).

Suggested fabrics: Canvas (7-9 oz.), waxed canvas (8-10 oz.) or dry oilskin for exterior fabric. Quilting cotton for lining fabric.

Fabric requirements: 

Regular: 44″ (1.1 m) wide fabric: Exterior fabric, 1 yd (1 m) // Lining fabric, 1 yd (1 m).

Mini: 44" (1.1 m) wide fabric: Exterior fabric, 1/2 yd (46 cm) // Lining fabric, 5/8 yd (58 cm).

An additional 1/4 yd (0.2 m) of both exterior and lining fabric is needed if making the zippered front pocket.

Sizing: 

Regular finished dimensions: 11 1/2" W x 15" H x 5" D (29 cm x 38 cm x 12 cm).

Mini finished dimensions: 8" W x 10 1/2" H x 4 1/2" D (20 cm x 27 cm x 11.5 cm).
