Petits D'om Fitz Joggers or Shorts
Buy the Child/Teen Fitz Joggers or Shorts sewing pattern from Petits D'om. These slim-fit joggers or shorts can be sewn in two versions. Version A is a basic jogger with a vertical seam at the side. Version B has a curved side seam into which you can insert a contrasting strip, as well as a curved knee reinforcement with decorative topstitching. The hem of the Version B shorts is also thus curved. The leg hems of the joggers can be basic, with or without a zipper, or made with hem bands. The waistband can have inserted elastic, or you can sew a wide decorative elastic directly on the top of the joggers/shorts.
Fitz is perfect for sports or lounging, or even as a pyjama bottom. You can sew Fitz with an overlocker (serger) or a standard sewing machine, and the simplest version is very fast to sew.

Suggested fabrics:
Main: You can choose any kind of sweatshirt fabric (brushed, fleece, jogging fabric, French terry), or a jersey fabric for the shorts. The fabric must contain a bit of elastane (avoid 100% cotton fabric).
Pockets and contrasting strips: Use thin jersey.
Waistband and hem bands: Jersey fabric, French terry or ribbing fabric. Avoid very thick fabric. Note: Hem bands cut in a low stretch fabric will be difficult to sew, especially for the smallest sizes.
Fabric requirements: The yardage of the main fabric is sufficient if you want to cut all pieces in it.
Main: 140 cm (58") wide fabric: Joggers, 80 - 150 cm (7/8 - 1 5/8 yd) // Shorts, 45 - 90 cm (1/2 - 1 yd).
Pockets: 140 cm (58") wide fabric: 25 - 35 cm (1/4 - 3/8 yd).
Contrasting strips: 10 cm (1/8 yd) wide fabric: 30 - 55 cm (3/8 - 5/8 yd).
Waistband and hem bands: 140 cm (58") wide fabric: 20 cm (1/4 yd).
